This was taken during 2012's Round the Island Race. Ben Ainslie took part by sailing on board The Eleonora which is and exact replica of the schooner Westward.

Westward was launched on March 31, 1910 as hull number 692 at the Herreshoff Manufacturing Co. in Bristol, Rhode Island, USA. She was one of the most famous and best known racing schooners in the world for her time.

She truly is a beauty to photograph and felt a slight sepia tone would add to her timeless quality.

About the prints

The photographs are printed using archival pigment inks onto Permajet Smooth Pearl 280gsm paper and mounted in a lily-white whitecore mount and archival backing board ready for framing.

The canvas prints are printed onto Innova 390gsm polycotton canvas and hand-stretched over 1 inch deep high quality pine stretcher bars, complete with fittings ready to hang.

All photographs & canvas prints are part of a limited edition run of 250 copies - once this number is reached no more copies of the photo will be produced.
